New Year , New Look , New Theme. Yes , change is in the air. While the essence of the Muse remains, the content will become broader in scope to get the bigger picture. I will also be spotlighting others in the spiritual community to share their wisdom . My astrology observations will remain as 2025 is a banner year for planetary movement , but also energetic movement. The Schumann readings have been intense as a result of solar flare activity of our Sun. By the time you read this Uranus will go direct at 23 degrees Taurus, delivering surprises and urges for change in our deep seated values and how we relate to money once again. How’s your financial position? Have you been making adjustments? Taking care of business? The money markets may have some unexpected events as the final round of Uranus in Taurus comes to a close and rolls into Gemini in May.

Both Jupiter and Mars will go direct this month. Jupiter will move forward at 11 degrees Gemini and Mars in Cancer at 17 degrees. For all of you that have been patient to initiate major actions and changes , you will feel the energy pushing you forward at last in communications and getting your emotions focused on a path. We are still in the season of Winter, and our efforts are best served in rest, while visualizing our new path forward come Spring. There is also a worthy New Moon chart in Pisces this month. Every once in awhile planets and non-planetary points such as the Nodes conjoin together. This will put an emphasis on the natal house in your chart that is ruled by the sign of Pisces. All of you with 2 or more water signs in your chart may feel the benefits too.

What do you feel when you see this chart? All this Pisces energy ( 5 planets + the North Node) will put an emphasis on unconscious feelings , intuitions and dreams. It could create a collective anxiety as well, as endings may start to multiply as Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. Those will several water signs in their natal charts may really connect with all this water energy. With Mercury so close to Neptune and the Sun square Jupiter, be particularly aware of media messaging vs. truth. Time to use discernment!

Volcanic activity has increased and earthquakes. It is a subject that is easy to dismiss as we cannot see energy fields, but they are out there - much like wireless energies. I think it is fascinating how these vibrational changes are mirroring the larger changes that astrologers see coming for 2025 and 2026. Again, this is not to preach fear , but awareness. It can help guide you on strange feelings you may have in your body. Sleep patterns can also be affected and eating patterns as we are ALL processing what is happening about us. Grounding is the key on very unsettled days.

Science and Tarot Merge Together?

It is not often that I run across a book or individual that is well versed in the sciences and the spiritual , intuitive world. Thanks to a dear friend mine, I am exploring a local neuroscientist who just published a book titled, The Neuroscience of Tarot. Siddharth Ramakrishnan PhD. teaches at the University of Puget Sound. The book explores the science behind intuition and proves that tarot/astrology readers aren’t just making up their results!

This is a remarkable breakthrough given all the skeptics I have met. Your brain processes everything it sees and viewing card imagery and astrology charts over time keys into the unconscious realms. Science based problem solving works on analytics, while Intuitive based problem solving works with unconscious, which in my experience goes from A>Z in one step and does not have a need for the mathematic explanations in between. Think of the field of music. It is often noted that people who are mathematically inclined are often drawn to music. True composers often hear the music in their heads and then translate the details into symbols ( i.e. notes) written on paper so others can interpret and perform. Same for astrology and other divination tools. I get an immediate “hit” when I see a chart for the first time and I think the same is true for experienced tarot readers.

Sometimes a Wild God

Poetry is not my favorite thing although I am an avid reader, but this particular poem came my way by one of my favorite astrologers, Steve Judd. Steve and I are about the same age and grew up learning the subject the “ analog way”. As a teacher, it can be challenging to transfer the feeling of a planetary energy or how it interacts with other planets. Steve read this poem and compared it to the planet Pluto , which is currently rocking our world with deep collective changes , devastating fires, wars , arguments , power plays, intensity and transformation beyond our imagination. Pluto changes in your life are permanent. Pluto in Aquarius in the next 20 years will change how we interact with technology, each other and stir up some revolution as needed.

To close this Muse , I would remiss if I did not mention Lunar New Year, year of the Yin Wood Snake, arriving on 1/29. Lunar New Year always coincides with the first New Moon of the year. This one occurs at 10 degrees of Aquarius. Snake energy is about transformation and shedding your skin, much like a Pluto transit. Yin in western astrology is feminine, Wood relates to Earth signs - practical grounded energy. The snake has a Scorpio vibe. Laying low, observing, deep thinking and willing to sting , in this case bite, when annoyed. These bites are frequently deadly. The New Moon chart has 4 planets in Aquarius, 4 planets in Pisces , including the North Node, plus Jupiter trine the New Moon. This is a very positive New Moon.

Use this opportunity to reflect on the changes you would like to make in your life this year. In numerology, this year is a “9” year, endings and completions. ( 2+2+5 = 9)
