Metaphysical Musings - January

Out of chaos comes order. The planets continue to send messages of change and internal adjustment, while the Winter Solstice advises rest, internal processing and planning for next year.
Only 2 planets remain retrograde as of today, Jupiter and Uranus - expansion and sudden change. Sit tight as Jupiter is still asking the collective to process feelings, our sense of home and security and the divine feminine. More and more women are speaking out and demanding change towards the dysfunction and illegal behavior that continues from the White House. Jupiter also rules our beliefs, the legal system and justice. Expect to see some resolution in these areas by March. Uranus will start implementing some unexpected events around our financial systems, how we value money and of course, ourselves. Technology and how it influences the financial markets will be a factor.
The beginning of a 2+ year cycle of Saturn in Aries enters the picture in February, as we all need to rely on our own leadership. Looking outward may not be the best path , although I expect new leadership to step up in many countries and businesses as a new sense of creation will be warranted after the dissolution of outdated practices. Neptune is slowly moving forward in the last degree of Pisces - pushing the boundaries on the spiritual world …asking for our reconnection to the planet we call home. Nature needs to be part of the mix, how we raise food and treat all living animals. The realization that we are connected will become more evident.
2025 has been a particularly volatile year bringing more endings than we can process. I am sure for many of you there were still highlights of wonder and discovery. Just remember that for every ending there must be a new beginning and that is the real story of 2026. Continue to expect more and more shoots of new growth, positive energies emerging and feelings of empowerment from those that have stayed the course and reconnected with their sense of inner being and belonging.
By the Spring, many planets will be in fire and air elements wanting change and action. Saturn in Aries may create bold , impulsive leadership, but as individuals look for the new path - timing is for the pioneer. Lean into uncharted territory and listen to the Neptune/intuition guiding YOU forward. Break the ties of following others. Creation can be messy. The bigger picture of Pluto , Uranus and Neptune will be an overlay of brilliant consciousness that will lead us to new ways of connecting, relating and communicating.

Astrology has many cross-cultural practices. I practice Western astrology. Indian culture uses Vedic. The 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac are ancient and many of us know our animal. Each animal is associated with an element ( air, fire, water, earth - including metal) , much like Western astrology. 2026 is the Year of Fire Horse - a great visual image, starting in mid-February. Chinese astrology actually goes in 60 year cycles due to the element of the animal for that year. The Fire Horse year has not appeared since 1966 - another revolutionary year of change, demands from the collective and fallen leaders.
Horses do not sit around, stand by and observe. They run, gain attention and bring inspiration, sometimes with impulsiveness! Fire energy is creative and passionate. Expectations are high for movement which also mirrors what Western astrology supports.

This year, vow to make better mistakes, take a chance. Do not remain silent. Speaking your truth is the wonder of free expression that makes events around us change!
Safety tips for 2026
Do not assume all will change quickly this coming year. It took several years to demolish the old organizations. New ones will take time as well.
The quicker you let go of what no longer serves you the better your new growth can begin.
Continue to take care of your health. New healing modalities are on the horizon, especially in fields using light, sound and electrical energy.
Reconnect with Mother Nature and the seasons of plants and animals. Begin to notice the simple signs that appear in your path.
Walk, ground, take quiet time to listen, especially in times of stress.
Nurture yourself with simple foods such as soups and stews. The more veggies the better. Your body is the vehicle that integrates the higher frequencies that surround us.
Connect more with others in your community - in person! Find and schedule your playtime. It is just as important as your daily responsibilities.
